Glaciers, custodians of ancient history

History is written in nature: by analysing the evolution of the glaciers, moraines and the successive plant life in upper Valgrisenche it is possible to understand how the Alpine environment has evolved over the centuries. A day’s journey will help you learn about the legends of these ancient and reserved places, only open to those who love the mountains. The glacial environment of the Valle d’Aosta still contains the precious and rare Carex atrofusca (scorched Alpine sedge), and is a place where you can discover the wine and food of Valle d’Aosta at the mountain hostel, a place that generates its own electricity and whose management of resources will show you how you can live in the mountains in harmony with nature.
