The mine’s sleep

Night-time trek in the Mineral Park of Chuc and Servette, in discovery of one of the least known places in Valle d’Aosta, between Mont Avic Natural Park and the Mont Emilius area. An evocative place full of history: a route that will lead you into the depths of the mountains through excavation tunnels, beyond time and space.

  • Duration of activity and period recommended:

    1 hour for the briefing
    3 hours per night snowshoeing or hiking at night
    + Transfer time (1/2 hour)
    From December to March with snow shoes, the rest of the year, such as hiking.

  • No. of participants and age groups:

    Max 10 participants
    Max 15 participants in the case of organized groups, with people who know From 14 years up to 80 years.

  • Physical preparation and equipment:

    Average level of fitness.
    Basic equipment for snowshoeing and hiking in the mountains: snowshoes, poles, front, backpack, boots, mountain wear. There shall be no public transport.
    Snowshoes, poles and front may be provided by the association.
    Be prepared: helmet with headlight style miner.
    Material included in the price.

Experience life in the mines with the discovery of digging tunnels (when they are fit for use) while snowshoeing or hiking at night (experience of transition from the darkness outside the dark interior), with the unique feeling of being lost and then "find himself" into the mountain... out of time and space. Observation of work tools, methods of cultivation, identification of minerals...
