La Batise

The Auberge “La Bâtise” opened for business on 1 July 2000. The hotel, an old stone building, dating back to around 1795 was restored by its owner, the municipality of Bionaz, using its own funds and a state contribution issued for the Great Jubilee in 2000.

How to reach

By car

Aosta Est motorway exit. Follow directions for the Gran San Bernardo Tunnel (green roadsigns), which will quickly take you to the opening of the tunnel connecting with road 27.
Go through the tunnel and turn right at its exit (roadsigns for Valpelline, Diga di Place Moulin).
Follow the regional road for a few km until you reach the municipality of Valpelline. Pass the petrol station on the right (the valley's last service station) and continue uphill as far as the junction for Bionaz on the right at the hairpin bend.
Once on this road, follow regional road 28, which passes the municipality of Oyace and after a short uphill tract leads to the Lexert plain and the homonymous lake and shortly thereafter to the provincial capital of Bionaz. The road leading to the hostel can be found after the church, on the left.

The nearest railway station is in Aosta. The bus station is opposite the train station.
